God?

I don't have the words for an update yet. The last few journal entries of mine are so trivial.

I don't know what to do. There is a list of people who live far away but have family members in this area who they haven't heard from and/or have special needs. We are going to try to hunt some of those people down this weekend. That of course will require gasoline. There was a stabbing over gas at the station by our house this morning. People are losing it.

There are a lot of kind people too though. Their stories just don't make the news. A man from Pensacola knocked on our door. He's here with a chainsaw and food doing what he can to help. He says he's returning the favors people from our area did for Pensacola after Ivan.

I finally have cash and a grocery store is open. At least living off ramen noodles was a good way to lose weight! NOT that I'm complaining; I am more thankful for ramen noodles and a roof over my head than I ever thought possible.

I let a woman use my phone to call relatives to come get her. She and her husband lost both their jobs, both their cars and their house. They feel lucky and blessed, however, because their neighbor lost his life.

I just still don't have the words.

Thanks! You're a sweetie. Things are improving a lot in Mobile, but God knows those people in LA and MS still need our prayers!

I hate to see tragedies like this happen to the world. But looking at the glass half full, they always make me realize my faith. If there's one thing I will always have is God. I don't preach my values, and I don't attend church every Sunday, but I believe and I can tell you do too. Hang in there and if there is anything, absolutely anything, any of us can do to help you and the people in the Gulf, let us know. I'm donating to all the organizations I can... its good to hear that, despite what the news has to say about the looters, people are out there helping one another. :) You are in my prayers.

Thanks :) Things have greatly improved here over the weekend. Everyone's helping - instead of working today, my husband's company is driving truckloads of ice and food over to MS and LA :)

I have been on here since far before the storm... but this entry moved me. I do hope life's getting back to normal down there for you. I'm still absolutely beside myself for ppl in MS and LA, though. We've even had refugees up here, and we're going to be working on renovating a school for kids to attend that are displaced for the rest of the semester.

Please take care!
